How many classes to learn the A.T.?

It differs from person to person.  Learning the Alexander Technique is like learning a new skill such as a language, an instrument or a sport. The more time you put into studying the technique, the more you will get out of it. The frequency of your lessons also effects the rate of your progress.

A series of 10 classes minimum are recommended to get a full introduction to the technique.

When will I feel relief from pain & discomfort?

This varies from student to student. Most students feel relief within the first 5 classes of Alexander Technique, some feel relief during the first or second class.

How can I find the right A.T. teacher for me?

The best way is to ask for a 30-45 minute Alexander Technique introduction class before committing to a series of classes. You can also ask the Alexander Technique teacher to provide references of previous students.

The British Medical Journal published the results of a randomized controlled trial of over 500 subjects that the ATEAM conducted to understand the benefits of the Alexander Technique.  Click the link below to read the study and proof of the benefits of the Alexander Technique.

The Alexander technique teaches you to feel comfortable in your own skin. It sounds strange. Right? You can learn to stand, sit, squat, move and be free with undue tension in the body, to stand effortlessly using relativity in the body with opposition. It helps you learn how to recycle held energy in your body to allow yourself to be active and energetic without being tense.
